DIMAPUR, MARCH 26 (MExN): The Dimapur District Citizens' Forum (DDCF) has raised concern over the immense hardship faced by travellers at Dimapur railway station under Lumding Division of the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR).
In a representation addressed to the Divisional Railway Manager, NFR Lumding, the DDCF stated that even basic amenities for passengers are missing in platform no 2 & 3. It pointed out that the two platforms in question are without chairs, roof/shed and the passengers have to stand and wait under the scorching sun and rain as there are very less number of seats and no shelter.
Moreover, there is only one foot bridge that connects to these platforms, for which passengers are often put into danger by having to cross over through the railway tracts in case of sudden change in departure platform.
Highlighting these anomalies, the DDCF have requested the concerned to look into the grievances of the travellers by immediately constructing shelter, providing chairs at platform no 2 & 3 and connecting these platforms with another foot bridge at the South-western section of the station for the welfare of the travellers.
