
Dimapur, July 5 (MExN): The second meeting of the Dimapur District Gorkha Indigenous Forum (DDGIF) on July 3 deliberated on the prevailing issues pertaining to the State Government's notification regarding Register of Indigenous Inhabitants of Nagaland (RIIN).
The meeting attended by leaders of the Gorkha indigenous inhabitants of Dimapur held at Gorkha Cultural Hall, Nepali Gaon, Dimapur, was in continuation to the meeting of the DDGIF which was held on March 17, stated a press release from Pushpa Raj Sharma, Convenor DDGIF.
In the second meeting, the house “unanimously decided to form a platform with its nomenclature as ‘Dimapur District Gorkha Indigenous Forum’ (DDGIF) to safeguard, unite and strengthen the interest of the Gorkha indigenous inhabitants of Dimapur District.”
Office bearers were selected by the house to lead the DDGIF (Adhoc) adding that the new team of office bearers would be elected/selected in the next general meeting of the Forum. The DDGIF will be presently led by Pushpa Raj Sharma, Convenor; Dipak Lama as Co-Conevnor; Deepak Chettri as Member Secretary and eight other member secretaries.
Meanwhile, the DDGIF has convened a general meeting of the Gorkha indigenous inhabitants of Dimapur district on July 7 at Circuit House, Dimapur. It has informed all the Gorkha indigenous inhabitants residing under Dimapur district including Medziphema, Chümoukedima Area, Niuland Area, Purana Bazar Area, Naharbari Area, Kusiabill Area, Toluvi Area, Padam Pokhuri Area, Darogapathar/3rd Mile Area, Singrijan Area, Sangtamtila Area, Kashiram Area, Lengrijan Area and all the town areas to attend the meeting without fail.
