
Dimapur, May 7 (MExN): The Dimapur District Legal services Authority (DDLSA) conducted essay competition with Sunday school children on May 7 at United Baptist Church, Bamunpukhuri here.
Zacharia Tetseo, Panel Lawyer, DDLSA in his keynote address spoke on the importance and functions of free legal services. He highlighted how free legal aid has been provided to the weaker sections of the society and people with disabilities to ensure that justice is not denied to any citizen, according to a press release. Tetseo further informed that members of ST/SC, victims of trafficking human, women and childen, persons having annual income of Rs. 1 lakh and senior citizens with income below Rs. 2 lakh are eligible to receive free legal services.
Altogether, 27 students participated in the competition. Ferena Magh bagged the first position, Amenla Longkumer came second and Treila Phom won the third position. All the winners received certificate and cash prize.
The programme was chaired by Vimeno Kutsu, Panel Lawyer, DDLSA, welcome address was given by Limasungla, Sunday school teacher and vote of thanks by Lahoto Aomi, Pastor, United Baptisr Church, Bamunpukhuri.
