DDLSA spreads awareness on Lok Adalat

Dimapur, April 16 (MExN): To spread awareness on the importance of Lok Adalat, the Dimapur District Legal Services Authority (DDLSA) organized mass awareness seminar with the chairpersons and executives of different organizations in Dimapur at the Court premises on April 16.  

The introductory session was carried out by Neiko Kanuo, DDLSA chairperson cum Principal District & Sessions Judge, Dimapur.  

Visheli H Yepthomi addressed the gathering on the role of Legal Service Authority, while Retainer Lawyer DDLSA Nathaniel Kevichusa spoke on Lok Adalat.  

Nathaniel, according to a press release, apprised that Lok Adalat is a forum where disputes/cases pending in the court of law or at pre-litigation stage are settled/compromised amicably and there is no court fee payable when a matter is filed in a Lok Adalat.  

He also highlighted the impact of mobile Lok Adalat, which is to ensure safety of all the vehicle owners, passengers as well as the pedestrians as per the law.  

In his concluding remarks, Ajongba Imchen, Secretary, DDLSA and Chief Judicial Magistrate encouraged the gathering to avail the services of Lok Adalat where parties settle disputes primarily through mutual agreement.
