
Kohima, July 22 (MExN): The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Kohima conducted Community First Responder (CFR) training for Sub-divisions of Sechü Zubza, Tseminyu and Chiephobozou from July 8 to 19 with the objective to capacitate and impart disaster response skills to the community, as in every form of disaster, it is the community who first respond to it.
According to a press release some of the theory sessions imparted during the course of the training are “Introduction to Disaster Management, Incident Response System (IRS), Characteristics of Community First Responder, Personal and scene safety and practical sessions include knotting, bandaging, emergency method of search and rescue, patient body assessment, triage and splinting. The CFR training is being conducted in collaboration with the department of Home Guards & civil defence, district administration Kohima and supported by Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), Home Department.
The trainers of the training are the State Disaster Response Force(SDRF), Kohima and the whole training is coordinated by Thejangulie Zao, district disaster management officer, Kohima and Victor Yhome, District project associate Kohima. In each of the training, about 50 members from various villages attended the training.
