The body of a dead infant was found abandoned in a drain in Dimapur. According to the police, the body was retrieved from the drain, locally known as ‘baloo noti’, near New Field police check post at around 8:00pm on January 26. The right forearm of the dead newborn was missing. It is suspected that the baby, a female, was born with only one arm. The body was transferred to the district hospital morgue, police added.
