Dead woman buried inside Zoological Park

144 Cr Pc clamped

Dimapur, August 19 (MExN): In a case of heightened absurdity, a deceased lady belonging to Thilixu ‘B’ village in Dimapur was buried ‘inside’ the Rangapahar Zoological Park today. The body was reportedly carried ‘over’ the boundary inside the Park and buried at about 8 am Thursday morning. The deceased is reportedly a relative of one of the person’s belonging to ‘encroacher party’ of the Zoological Park. The relative of the deceased claim the land where she has been buried belongs to them.

No untoward incident has been reported. However, in view of the volatile situation prevailing in and around the Park, and to prevent the breach of tranquility, Dimapur Deputy Commissioner Maongwati Aier has promulgated 144 Cr Pc, prohibiting assembly of more than five (5) persons, carrying any lethal weapon in the area with immediate effect.  The DC has also given a 24 hours ultimatum (till 9 am Friday) to exhume the dead body from inside the Park. The DC has made it clear no such activity will be allowed inside the forest reserve. ss
