Dear Readers, these are some suggestions on what practical and concrete measures the Government of Nagaland needs to take to tackle the menace of drug abuse and trafficking of pharmaceuticals in the state.

•    As long as educational institutions keep manufacturing degree based students instead of transforming into institutions that mould skill oriented human beings the problem unwanted students will ever swell. It's like we have fertile land and good seeds but the kind of seed needed for a particular area depends on the farmer. One mistake and an entire season gets wasted over that area. In short entrusting the academia into producing need based students is the only answer in curbing addiction and other avoidable vices.

•    In need to set up state of the art lab and latest machinaries to detect illicit drugs and most importantly community policing.

•    We should look at how other countries have successfully implemented their drug addiction campaigns. This isn't a new issue. Banning alcohol was tried by the US. How Portugal under the advice of Dr Goulão treated addiction by decriminalising possession of drugs may be the most insightful method we could employ. I really like how he said, "If addiction is a sickness then why should we arrest people." Treating those that are addicted to any substance as firstly human is the most important step. It would be great if a case study of the Portuguese drug addiction experiment be made available on your daily papers.

•    Follow the certain protocol and regulations produce by the state strictly, no special tactics required..

•    I think we need to completely start from the root. There is completely zero effort from the Government to tackle this issue. We are lost in forming new NGOs and political group. Many young minds and good ones are scum to this drug in our state. And it a high time to tackle this issue both from the public and the government. We can to this few measure.

•    1.Increase funding for drug education and awareness programs aimed at preventing drug abuse among young people.

•    2. Increase the availability of treatment options for drug addiction, including rehabilitation facilities, support groups, and counseling services.

•    3. Strengthen border security and collaborate with neighboring states and the central government to prevent the smuggling of drugs into Nagaland.

•    4.Launch an extensive campaign to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and its impact on health, families, and communities.

•    Drugs menace had gotten worse after the ban of check gates in Nagaland by our incumbent governor. so I think frisking and checking of vehicle coming from Manipur and Assam should be continued. And also parents should take effective measures to educate their children about drug abuses and more seminars and programmes should be taken up by government or the educational institutions to educate the young about the effects and how it is destroying the generations at large.

•    Customers to produce ID while purchasing "addictive medicines". And pharamacy to maintain a log book so that government know who is buying them. And government to record the stock so it knows pharmacies are not selling in black market. Police and administration to have more sincerity in checking abuse of drugs. Like they say, if police are honest, even a sandal will not be stolen. I know 3 such people addicted to things sold in pharmacies. 2 are dead and 1 is now an addict. Alive but a menace to his family.

•    We need strict police vigilance, and harsher sentencing as well as good rehab centres in our state to help drug users come out of their addiction.

•    When we suffer from inside it shown outside; likewise there is a root cause to every problem. The corruption and money laundering cases has been increasing every now and then coz of the evil practices in a state Christian state. This should be brought to light and the state government should play a key role to fight and combat this disease of drug abuse trafficking and pharma

•    1.Whose sale openly. 2. Whose use openly. (Alcohol and drug) 3. Whose acts (behaviour) and talks are foolishly in the streets, public places or anywhere must be dealt as per the Act of Law without relationships , friendships or whatever may be, then, that only can bring the changes bit by bit. One thing is Law upon 'Bribe.

•    1.Employ them. 2. Idle man is the devil's workshop 3. Menace of drug abuse and traffickers mostly available in poor countries like Africa, Mexico etc so, all-round development is primary in the state. 4. It is impossible to curb this menace by force.
