It has become a customary tradition for those underground and over ground leaders to shed crocodile tears when a Naga genius or a prominent leader from Naga community is shot dead by the cadres of this faction or that faction for ransom or for the allegations of spying or for the crime committed by defecting from one group to another or for not echoing in the insurgents’ line or for not providing political patronage, mostly for personal enmity and personal monetary gains. Of late, the mad killing has surfaced for girls too which was never before.
Several geniuses like T. Sakhrie, Chalie Kevichusa, Imkongliba, Dali Mungro, Povezo, Mezolie and thousands of innocent Nagas has been swallowed by insurgency in the name of fight for Naga Homeland. The leaders like Hokishe Sema and S.C.Jamir were brutally attacked. Thank God that almighty saved their lives and Naga society is privileged to have the benefit of their able guidance at the time of present crisis.
Few years before, the pastors were looted near Kohima while coming to Kohima by bus for attending pastors’ conference. Several churches were demolished and church leaders were killed in early eighties.
The road blockade of Noklak by NSCN (IM) cadres has entered its 21st day (from October 21 till date) for the “crime” committed by a pastor by requesting the NSCN (IM) cadres to leave the village to avoid factional clash. NSCN (IM) has abducted from Pfutsero seven public leaders including Pfutsero Town Council Chairman and the pastor of Chakhesang Mission Centre Church Nuvosayi Vese (40) on October 10. Here also, their only crime is that they had denounced factional clashes and had demanded all the factions to move out from Pfutsero area to put a full stop on factional fight and sorrow of the people of that area.
God knows whether Nagas will get integration or not. But it is sure that this fight for integration spearheaded by NSCN (IM) and other underground groups will swallow more persons like Hesso Mao for no gain.
Moreover, Hesso Mao and the likes are not killed by enemy. He was killed by so called “National Workers” for money. The time has come for the Nagas to think seriously whether to support insurgency or not. Otherwise Nagas will meet their doom.
