‘DEBUNK THE MYTHS: Increase Awareness of Cancer’

Student Nurses Association members and faculty from the College of Nursing visit cancer patients receiving treatment in the hospital.

 
Dimapur, February 3: The College of Nursing in collaboration with the Community Health Department of Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research, Dimapur organized an awareness programme to commemorate the World Cancer Day on February 4 in the hospital premises based on the theme, ‘Debunk the Myths: Increase Awareness of Cancer’.

As part of the awareness drive, there were presentations by Dr. Atsung Aier and the I Year B.Sc.Nursing (Post Basic) students on the theme and various forms of preventable cancers respectively. A moment of silence was also observed for all the cancer patients who lost their lives battling the disease and for those suffering from it. The students continued their awareness campaign throughout the hospital, visiting the outpatient departments and the wards.

A smaller group comprising the Student Nurses Association (SNA) members and few of the faculty from the College of Nursing visited and prayed for all the cancer patients admitted and receiving treatment in the hospital.
