400-horrific days have passed-by, ceasefire and peace negotiations are distant propositions. Israel’s war on Palestinians continues with more intensity. Israel’s major ally and big brother—the United States has allowed and gave green signal to the rogue state Israel to destroy Gaza Strip, West Bank and East Jerusalem. In the pretext of offering hope to everyone right across the world especially to the Palestinians, the United States kept saying that the ‘cease fire is imminent’ and the ‘war could come to an end’ at any time. Many believed, but the narratives posit empty promises, rather reflecting the total genocidal intent of the occupying forces.
More than 45,000 innocent Palestinians were killed and millions have been displaced. Famine and epidemics are on the rife posing serious challenges. Continuous air strikes and heavy bombardments have totally devastated the future of the innocent children in the dark. It is genocidal and total slaughtering of the Palestinians. The racist utterances and slurs such as ‘human animals’ and in the process manifesting de-humanizing the Palestinians to such lows. At the same time, Israel has been exposed in such ways facing isolation and thus being considered as a pariah state. Its game of fooling the world is over and many could see through.
Narratives such as ‘I would like to stop it, but can’t’ coming from the caucus and top powerful political executive of the United States convey duplicity and complicity of these leaders. The United States said that it won’t stop the military and financial aids to Israel. Israel’s allies have now legalized the ‘anti-Semitism’ against the Jews or Israelis would be considered as a serious offence. They have now shielded the rhetoric as many started to expose the Jewish and Christian Zionists as antisemites The new government headed by Donald Trump and his cabinet conveys the deadly combinations of far-right corroded mind-sets who would go implementing the policies from day one of what Donald Trump has been saying coupled with ruthless actions.
The future is bleak and chaotic. The United States enjoys all sorts of benefits having its foothold of Israel. The United States would never betray or shift its ironclad alliance with Israel as both the United States and Israel benefits. How can a war be brought to right end as the aggressors’ wage wars for wrong reasons. Donald Trump, the president-elect wants to involve in the two major ongoing wars. He views at the conflicts from economic perspective – 1) Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022, the US has sent out $64 bn in military aid to Ukraine and 2) with regard to Israel, it has spent thus far $18bn since last October, 2023. The United States looks at these as investments for the future.
Right from day one (October 7th, 2023) Israel, the United States and their proxies have been using a rhetoric ‘Israel has the right to defend’. Hundreds of narratives, discourses, and debates including the TV news would start with this phrase. Take BBC, CNN, Fox News or any news supported by the media giants except a few have been employing this so efficiently. Usage of this phrase is so dangerous and nuanced ways and so by all means be debunked. For this a pivotal question that arise is: What then are the borders of Israel? Another elementary question that follows is: Could Israel point its borders?
Every nation-state that calls itself as a sovereign country recognized by the United Nations possesses definite and marked territorial borders and boundaries. Does the state of Israel show, anything like others? Invoking biblical history and thus laying its claims seem to have been totally demolished by pointing to Balfour Declaration and branding Israel as a settler colony that has been created by the European colonizers. Balfour Declaration of 1917, the statement of British support for “the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people in Palestine.” What does it mean? Israel is colonial settlement project.
As against the backdrop the State of Israel which came into being because of the British colonialism now wants to have its defined and definitive borders and so since late 1940s keep expanding its borders. PM Benjamin Netanyahu wherever he goes shows the map be it United Nations General Assembly or whoever he meets in the office his eyes often look at the map. And so, wants to expand the stated vision of Zionists—Greater Israel—from River to Sea. How could this be translated? The far-right and Netanyahu do not favour two-state or one state solution. Their vision is to expand so that its borders and territories can be defined.
Israel is facing questions that are consequential. Is Israel an entity? Or what? There’s no clarity on it. Therefore, it deflects some of the questions that are problematic on others. In such a context, the only way is to have an alliance with an empire-builder, the United States who is militarily and financially strong and want a strong foothold in the Middle-East—a region with enormous resources and potentialities. Take the conflicts and wars that have been going on for more than 75-years, all these manifests expansion and occupation. So, ‘Israel has the right to self-defense’ is a farcical and non-sensical statements that has no merit and essence.
What is it the State of Israel defending? There’s no clarity on this. If his is so, can Israel show its territorial boundaries? This is why Israel is in the business of employing unscrupulous methods. Israel wants expand without any ethical parameters—whether means justify the ends or ends justify the means. This is called as Israelism and Jewish Zionism.
