Declamation Contest marks Youth Week Festival in Wokha

Under the theme, “My Bharat; Viksit Bharat @2047; By the Youth, For the Youth,” National Youth Week Festival cum Declamation Contest was held at WDVCCA conference Hall, Wokha on January 12. The programme organised by Young Imperial Club Funded NYKS, Wokha, was graced by N Renchano Kithan, Senior SDO, District Education Officer In-Charge, Wokha Nagaland as the chief guest.

Speaking at the event, N Renchano Kithan emphasised the participants that declamation speech is an oratorical exercise event which showcase a process of public speaking delivering a powerful and expressive emotions to evoke and captivate the audience. She reminded the participants that this contest aims to provide platform to the youth from all sections of the society to share their ideas and express the visions of ‘My Bharat; Viksit Bharat @2047.’

Kithan concluded her speech by stating that a brave and inspiring youth is the only foundation on which the future nation is build.

Chonben Kikon, second prize winner 

Number of youths participated in the declamation contest. The participants were judged under the criteria of originality of the content, authentic references, analysis of current situation, creative suggestion, new ideas, communication skills, and presentation, clarity of ideas and thoughts and confidence. The panel of judges for the declamation contest were Thungjano Ovung, Assistant professor and Meribeni T Kikon, journalist.

The winners of the declamation contest are Chiben G Enny securing the first position, Chonben Kikon securing the second position and Nzani Yanthan securing the third position. Chiben G Enny will be participating at the state level.

Earlier, the PM Live speech on Viksit Bharat @2047 was live telecast during the programme.

The programme was chaired by Zuchumo Murry President, United Sporting Club. Invocation prayer by Azano Ngullie, Welcome Address presented by Chumreni B Lotha, NYKS Volunteer, cultural presentation by United Sporting Club and benediction by Grace Yanthan.
