Defence Minister Rajnath Singh virtually inaugurates Paghla Bridge at Aboi

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 13 (MExN): Defence Minister of India, Rajnath Singh, virtually inaugurated the Paghla Bridge at Aboi under Mon District in the presence of Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), Phangnon Konyak on September 12. 

Phangnon Konyak, in her speech stated that she was privileged to be a part of the historic inauguration which highlights the translation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of future connectivity. She added that North-eastern India has witnessed tremendous development, which were never seen before.

The e- inauguration & dedication to the nation of Paghla Bridge's  programme was organised by the 100 Road Construction Company (GREF) and attended by ADC Aboi, dignitaries, civil societies of Aboi, chairman and delegates from Langmeing Village besides troops and workers of BRO.

The Paghla Bridge was constructed by Border Roads Organization (BRO). The inauguration and dedication of Paghla Bridge was a part of the 90 BRO infrastructures projects which were constructed in 10 border states and UTs of India at the cost of Rs 2,941 crore. Tuensang-Mon road crosses the Paghla River at Km 137.150 with water gap of more than 50 meters. The river becomes non-fordable during rainy season which causes inconvenience to road users and also snapping logistic movement in defence support.
