Delight and amusement at Stepping Stones School

Celebrates 8th Annual Day cum Graduation Ceremony

Students of Stepping Stones School, located at Duncan Basti, Dimapur presented a wonderful Annual Day programme much to the delight and amusement of their family and friends. Little toddlers presenting “The World of Nursery Rhymes”, Nursery kids singing the National Anthem, Class 1 with “The Earth Song” and a skit based on the tale of “Rainbow Fish” were just some of the special show put up by the talented students. This was followed by the graduation ceremony where certificates and awards were also presented to the students.   “Annual days are an exciting time for the children and the teachers as we wind up our year’s work and celebrate our small achievements. A lot of effort goes into the presentations, but we have a lot of fun as we practise and rehearse and there’s a lot for excitement among the children anticipating the presence and approving look of their parents,” stated Akhono, Administrator of Stepping Stones School in her welcome speech.   She also said that it feels like only yesterday the school embarked on a humble journey towards a dream of imparting and facilitating value based education in a fun and safe environment. She added, “God has been gracious and carried us through 8 years. This year we took a leap of faith and upgraded the school at the request of many parents. It has been a giant leap and we have a long way ahead of us. We look forward to your suggestions and support as we strive to give our best to the children.”     Akunu. S. Meyase, Joint Secretary, Department of Horticulture, Nagaland as the guest speaker expressed amazement to see the progress and achievements the school has made in the past 8 years. She also acknowledged the efforts and love given by the teachers to the children, stating, “As we can see the vibrancy projected on stage tonight.”   She also suggested that as parents, teachers and caregivers, we should also impart life lessons and values to our children as they slowly learn to enter the world and face all its challenges. She stated some points which are important to inculcate in our children. She shared, “As they learn their ABCs and 123s, we should also teach them values like honesty, truthfulness, letting them to take responsibility for their actions, teaching them to be determined, respect each other’s differences and way of thinking and beliefs. However, she concluded, “The most important is to keep loving our children without any boundaries.”
