
Dimapur, March 27 (MExN): The NSCN-K (Niki group) has mourned the demise of Z Hozheto Chophy, Ato Kilonser, NPGN/NNC on March 27. It stated that Hozheto was a man of principle with integrity and truthfulness who worked for the cause and the right of the Naga people with all sincerity and dedication. “Death of a man of great wisdom and knowledge is a great loss for the Naga people and Nagas as a whole mourns his death, MIP, NSCN-K (Niki group) stated in a condolence note.
The NSCN/GPRN honours the Naga leader for his selfless and valuable contributions rendered towards the cause of the Naga people and which shall remain etched in annals of the nation, it stated while conveying condolences and praying for solace of the bereaved family members and for eternal rest of the departed soul.
The NSCN/GPRN (Akato Chophi) has also condoled the demise of Hozheto Chophi, Ato Kilonser, NNC/NPGN (NA), and Co-Convenor of 7 NNPGs. MIP, NSCN/GPRN (Akato Chophi) in a condolence message said that Hozheto followed the footsteps of his late father Zuheshe Chophi, who was one of a top leader of NNC, and who later founded the Zuheshe Village under Niuland District. Both father-son duo had forfeited the comforts of family, pleasures of life and pursuing of successful dreams, but decided to dedicate their entire lives for the sake of National Cause.
“Hozheto demise has caused great loss for the Sumis in particular and the Nagas in general, and pray that the departed soul rest in eternal peace and may the good Lord also provide comforts and solace to the family members and friends during their time of grief,” it stated.
The Nagaland Gaon Bura (village chiefs) Federation also expressed sadness on the demise of Z Hozheto Chophi, Head GB Hozheto village, Ato Kilonser, NPGN/NNC, co-convenor Working Committee, NNPGs.
“During his life time he has served the public in various capacities, he was a students' leader, headed the Gaonbura's organisation, tribal hobo and dedicated his life for the Naga political struggle till his last breath. In his demise we have lost a great leader whose life was completely dedicated for public services, a vacuum created by his departure will be deeply felt,” Media cell, NGBF stated in a press note.
