Dengue ‘outbreak’ reported at Sabalie Colony Chümoukedima

Chümoukedima, August 8 (MExN): There is a dengue ‘outbreak’ at Sabalie Colony, Chümoukedima Town Ward-8, the colony authority informed  today.

 “Many have fallen sick and were admitted to hospital but there was also unfortunate mortality too,” stated a press release from the Sabalie Colony Council. 

While the arrival of monsoon was welcomed by citizens of the colony after a prolong heat wave; unfortunately, people started to “fall sick with dengue and slowly it turned into an outbreak kind,” it added. 

Meanwhile, the Council expressed its gratitude to the District Malaria Officer and its team for the timely action taken to spray insecticides on the evening of August 7 in the colony so as to contain further spread of dengue its colony as well as in the adjoining areas.
