Dimapur, March 22 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer (DEO), Dr Tinojongshi Chang today informed that persons employed in the “Essential Services" category will be allowed to vote via postal ballot during the Lok Sabha election to Nagaland Parliamentary Constituency on April 19.
The essential services are Power (electricity), Medical/ Health, Fire & Emergency Services, Traffic Police, Ambulance Service, Jail, Police, Civil Defence & Home Guard and Media.
In a notification, the DEO informed all the Heads of Department rendering the above essential services to nominate a Nodal Oficer to co-ordinate with the Postal Ballot Cell in the office of DC&DEO Dimapur.
The Nodal Officers are to submit a list of employees who will be on duty on the Poll Day (in 1- Dimapur-I, 2- Dimapur-ll and 3- Dimapur-Ill assembly segments to the Nagaland Parliamentary Constituency that falls under Dimapur District, it said.
Form 12D will be issued against the list of employees on duty on the poll day and the filled form should be submitted to DEO office by March 25 for preparation of Postal Ballot for such employees, it added.
