Department bids farewell to KT Sukhalu

Kohima: The Department of Legal Metrology & Consumer Protection, Nagaland bid farewell to KT Sukhalu, IAS, Commissioner & Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, Department of Legal Metrology & Consumer Protection on March 28.

The function was held at the Directorate of Legal Metrology & Consumer Protection, Kohima. H. Lungalang, Addl. Secretary, Legal Metrology & Consumer Protection in his Chairman’s address, described KT Sukhalu, IAS as a sincere and able officer who began his career as an EAC in the year 1981 and served the Government in various capacities.

Imtila Imchen, Superintendent of Legal Metrology & Consumer Protection invoked God’s blessings. Haikambe congratulated the retiring officer on behalf of the Nagaland Legal Metrology & Consumer Protection Services Association for the completion of an illustrious career. Vikholie, Joint Secretary, LM & CP, on behalf of the Secretariat staff of the Department of LM & CP, stated that KT Sukhalu, IAS was a dedicated officer who contributed a lot for the welfare of the state.

Bizo M Kuotsu, Joint Controller & HoD of Legal Metrology & Consumer Protection congratulated the Commissioner & Secretary on behalf of the department for attaining superannuation in good health acknowledged him for the re-instatement of the charge of Head of Department to the Joint Controller. He also acknowledge Sukhalu for the progress the department had made in various areas under the guidance of the Commissioner & Secretary - such as the construction of 6 (six) Working Standard Laboratories and 5 (five) District Forum Offices at the districts under the Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) from the Government of India. He stated that many deserving staffs were promoted since KT Sukhalu, IAS took over charge of the department, and described him as an administrator with exceptional qualities who always worked for the welfare of the department in particular and the State in general.

KT Sukhalu, IAS in his farewell speech said that he was entrusted with various tasks and responsibilities by the Chief Minister of Nagaland, some of which were very challenging, and he  hoped that he had lived up to the expectations. He stated that the department was as equally important as any other department in the state, and exhorted the enforcement officers to be more diligent and sincere in their official duties.  The programme ended with a vote of thanks from L. Nokcha, Deputy Controller of Legal Metrology & Consumer Protection Department.
