Kohima, August 19 (MExN): The Department of Social Welfare has in a press release informed students with disabilities and NGOs working for Persons with Disabilities that the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Government of India is implementing five categories of Scholarship schemes for students with disabilities viz., a) Pre-matric scholarship for Class IX and X; b) Post Matric scholarship for Class XI to Post Graduation; c) Scholarship for Top Class Education for Post Graduate Degree or Diploma in 197 notified institutions; d) National Fellowship for Persons with Disabilities for M.Phil/ Ph. D; e) National Overseas Scholarship for Post Graduation and Ph. D in Universities /Institutes abroad. The details of the Scholarship schemes of Pre-matirc, Post -matric and Top Class Education are available in the website (www.disabilityaffairs.gov.in).
The last date of applying online on the portal is August 31. The applicant of both new and old after submission of application online must submit the following documents: (i) A photocopy of all the documents including Aadhar seeded bank accounts, and (ii) Aadhaar number to the nodal officer, National e-scholarship portal for studnets with Disabilities, Department of Social Welfare, Nagaland.
