Kohima, March 24 (MExN): The Deputy Chief Minister of Nagaland Y Patton has condemned the recent series of criminal activities in the State, including the murder of Lunkholal Singson (Veterinary Field Assistant) of Sirhima village under Medziphema sub-division. His body was recovered in the wee hours of March 20 after he went missing on the night of March 17.
In a press statement, Y Patton, who also holds the charge of Home department, noted that the two accused have already been arrested by the State police and assured that law will take its own course of action. The Deputy CM also expressed solidarity to the bereaved family.
Patton further condemned the shooting and injuring of businesspersons Joy Chandra on March 22 and Rekha Das on March 23 in Dimapur. He stated that investigations in both the incidents are being undertaken by the district police and they are on the manhunt to book the persons involved.
Meanwhile, the Deputy CM maintained that the law and order situation will be strengthened by involving the law and order enforcing agencies and administrative agencies throughout the state. “Every criminal will be dealt according to his/her crime through the law,” he assured. He also urged the State police and the district administrative heads to take note of the recent incidents in the State and be vigilant in order to ensure peace among the general citizens.
