DIMAPUR, JAN 11 (MExN): The annual conference of Northern Sumi Students’ Union was held at Shihapu Village under Mokokchung District with H Khekiho Zhimomi, minister of industries and commerce as chief guest on January 10.
Addressing the mammoth gathering, Khekiho stressed that people as a whole should shoulder responsibility to safeguard and preserve the property and facilities provided by the government, a release said.
Adding that there is a need to develop a sense of ownership among the people in order to maintain and manage the numerous facilities provided by the government.
While encouraging the students to strive for quality education, the minister said the principle of survival of the fittest applies in this fast-paced world.
Emphasizing on work culture, he said that the lack of strong will power to succeed in life would gradually destroy a person. In this aspect, he urged upon the youth to develop a positive attitude in life.
The conference was attended by presidents of the NSF, Western Sumi Hoho, Western Sumi Kukami Hoho, NPF Dimapur division and other party and NGO delegates.
