Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav stated that India's goal to become a developed nation by 2047 will not be achieved through slogans or speeches, but requires every citizen, including students, to excel in their respective fields and contribute to society.

The Governor made the statement while addressing a felicitation programme organised by the Nagaland Bhojpuri Samaj at the Durga Mandir Hall in Dimapur. During the event, the Samaj felicitated 40 students from the community, including four meritorious candidates, who cleared the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) examinations 2026. It was the 14th edition of the annual ceremony.

Yadav dismissed the notion that nation-building is a responsibility solely reserved for political leaders. He advised the youths to advance in their preferred professions, whether as engineers, lawyers, doctors, teachers, or businesspersons, and to introduce new ideas to their fields.

"The country has taken a resolution that by 2047, we will establish India in the category of developed nations in the world," Yadav stated. "This goal of standing in the category of a developed country is not just a slogan. It is not just a subject for speeches. And it will not happen simply because the Prime Minister says it. If the country is to be developed, then everyone will have to work. Everyone will have to make their own contributions."

The Governor informed the students that the process of building an individual's future directly constructs the future of Nagaland and the nation. He reminded them that parental reprimands are meant for their benefit and long-term success. Attributing their current academic achievements to hard work, discipline, and the guidance of their parents and teachers, he called education the foundation of progress and character-building.

He urged the youths to dream big, remain focused on their goals, and become responsible citizens capable of making positive contributions. Success, he noted, is a matter of pride for the entire society, rather than just the individual.

Yadav also acknowledged the Nagaland Bhojpuri Samaj for its contribution to the social and cultural life of the state. He stated that such community initiatives strengthen societal unity and promote the importance of education among the younger generation. Kamal Jain, Treasurer, State BJP was the guest of Honour.
