DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 13 (MExN): Chanan FC and Dorians Society settled for a 2-2 draw, while A1 Powerplay defeated United V&S 3-1 on Saturday in the Dimapur Football League.
Sangti, Anato and Shikuto of A1 scored a goal each, while Nikato scored the sole goal for of United. Sangti & Onilo of A1 and Vinono & Tonaka of United F&S were cautioned during the match. In the first match, Crispin Kamson of Chanan FC was Awarded Man of the Match, while Shikuto of A1 Powerplay was awarded man of the match in the second match.
As per a DFL release, Daniel Lotha, Cabinet Secretary, NSCN (IM) was the Match Patron. He said that sports not only promote economic development and healthy lifestyle but also acts as a catalyst for social cohesiveness. “Sports teach you to understand the meaning of a team, you need to work with everybody and experience the fun of competition driving you towards the common goal,” he said. He also said that sports is a universal language understood by all and therefore it becomes one of the most effective means to unite and understand each other.
Daniel said that the DFL has given a strong basis to reshape talents and provide new platform for upcoming players. He told the clubs that it is an opportune time to share ideas and build a lasting relationship. He encouraged the players to take full advantage of the event to enhance their skills both on and off the field.
