DG Assam Rifles meets Nagaland CM, reviews Dimapur sector preparedness

DIMAPUR, MAY 22 (MExN): Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, Director General, Assam Rifles met Chief Minister of Nagaland Dr Neiphiu Rio  on  May  22 and  visited Kashiram Basti, Dimapur and conducted a comprehensive review of the operational readiness, ongoing activities  and the challenges faced by the under command units of Dimapur sector. 

A press statement issued by the PRO, HQ IGAR (North) said the visit was aimed at evaluating the force's preparedness in safeguarding internal security and maintaining stability in the critical region of North East. Additionally, Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera interacted with the troops and lauded the professionalism and commitment of the Assam Rifles personnel. 

Concluding the visit, he reiterated the necessity of maintaining heightened vigilance and robust civil-military cooperation to ensure sustained peace and security in the region. He also emphasized the ongoing commitment of Assam Rifles to support and collaborate with the local communities, fostering mutual trust and ensuring the successful execution of future operations.
