Kohima, May 9 (MExN): Lt Gen Shokin Chauhan, AVSM, YSM, SM, VSM, Director General Assam Rifles (DGAR) visited Kohima to grace the closing ceremony of Assam Rifles U-19 Oorja CAPF Talent Hunt Football Tournament as the guest of honour. The tournament, which concluded on May 8, is an initiative of the Prime Minister MSN XI Million to promote the talent of youth in football till grassroots level, said a press release from Lt Col Amitabh Sharma, PRO, HQ IGAR (N).
During his two-day visit to the State Capital, the DGAR met the Chief Minister Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu on May 8 and discussed security related issues of Nagaland. He assured the CM that Assam Rifles will live upto its motto ‘Friends of the Hill people’, according to the release.
The Director General also interacted with officers and troops of Assam Rifles and exhorted them to continue to perform their duty in a dedicated manner.
