Dimapur, September 18 (MExN): Lt Gen H J S Sachdeva, PVSM, AVSM, SM, ADC, Director General Assam Rifles (DGAR) visited Assam Rifles Training Centre & School, Shokhuvi on September 14.
According to a press release from the AR, a guard of honour welcomed the General to Shokhuvi Garrison. He was later briefed about the Training and Administrative aspects of the Centre by Brigadier Gurjap Singh, Commandant ARTC & S.
The General addressing the jawans and recruits, assured his full support towards improving the training infrastructure. He honored the Jawans by presenting the DGAR Commendation Cards to the meritorious and deserving personnel and promoted Rifleman Wangtham Lammaty of DGAR Equestrian Team to the rank of Havildar for winning prestigious medals at international events and bringing fame to AR.
He also presented a three wheeler Scooter to Warrant Officer Mani Tomba Singh of 37 AR who lost his leg in an IED blast while he was on duty in Manipur.
