Dimapur, July 9 (MExN): The Dimapur Government College (DGC) organized a farewell programme for retiring Principal Dr Moanochet Longchar on July 9.

Welcoming the gathering, Mithu Longkumer (Associate Professor and head of English Department), described Dr Moanochet Longchar's tenure in the College as 'short and sweet but impactful'.

Farewell speeches were delivered by Dr Vitsosie Vupru, Co-ordinator IQAC, Kezhaleu Hesso, Vice-Principal, while Tinuwangshi, LDA, spoke on behalf of the ministerial staff.

The speakers commended Dr Moanochet Longchar on his sincerity and humility and highlighted the numerous arenas in which the College has moved forward during his brief session as Principal which had included preparation for the all-important NAAC Peer Team visit.

They also conveyed the heartfelt gratitude of the DGC family to have been associated an inspiring personality like Dr Longchar.

Dr Moanochet Longchar acknowledged that he concludes his career with a deep sense of fulfillment and no regrets. He thanked the faculty, staff and students of DGC for their support and co-operation while working together towards fulfilling the dreams of the College. He also thanked his wife for journeying with him through his long career and credited her with all the success achieved. He concluded by expressing his best wishes to the College for the upcoming Peer team visit.    The programme closed with a special prayer of blessing by Suzzana Yaden, Assistant Professor, Department of English.
