Dimapur, June 2 (MExN): Dimapur Government College (DGC) bid farewell to its Vice Principal, Dr Meripeni Ngully of the History Department, on June 2 on the eve of her retirement after 32 years of service in teaching and administration.

A press release stated that Dr Ngully began her teaching career in classrooms equipped with blackboards and chalk and retires at a time when ICT-enabled classrooms and digital learning have become part of the academic environment.

During the farewell programme, members of the DGC community recalled her professionalism, dedication, sharp intellect, commitment and sincerity. Speakers noted her contributions as an educator and administrator, highlighting her meticulous approach to work and her role in mentoring students and colleagues over the years.

The programme was chaired by Dr Ngutoli Swu of the History Department. Principal, staff members, colleagues, friends and students shared messages and experiences, describing Dr Ngully's retirement as the beginning of a new chapter in life.

The programme concluded with a prayer of blessing led by Dr A Sentiyula of the English Department.
