Alemla Imsong

Dimapur, December 6 (MExN): The Dimapur Government College (DGC) on December 5, bid farewell to its Vice Principal Alemla Imsong.
According to a press release from the college, a programme was held in honour of the retiring Vice Principal who had also served in different official capacities including Head of Department of Political Science Department, Vice Principal as well as Officiating Principal.
It said that the the DGC Students’ Council presented a welcome song which was followed by speeches from members of the faculty, students and ministerial staff as well as the Principal, Dr Moanochet Longchar and former principal Kavili Jakhalu.
“Describing her as an efficient administrator and a remarkable woman, the various speakers recounted her immense contribution towards the development of the college and the welfare of the students. While her sincerity and dedication has evoked respect and admiration, her warm hearted, generous and practical personality has won over the hearts of the extended DGC-family over the years,” the release stated.
In her farewell speech, Alemla Imsong shared memories and experiences of her career. She expressed gratitude to all for the constant support during her time in DGC, and she shared her belief that the College remains under the care of able leadership and a committed staff.
Reiterating her deep attachment to DGC and its family, she stated that the relationships built in the midst of the overwhelming odds and challenges faced by the college since its inception is the most meaningful and shall endure, the release stated.
