DGCAA mourns Professor N Imsen Ao

Dimapur, August 30 (MExN): The Dimapur Government College Alumni Association (DGCAA) has mourned the demise of Professor N Imsen Ao, who passed away after brief illness at Eden Medical Centre, Dimapur, on August 30.

According to the association, Late Prof Imsen did his post graduation from Gauhati University in 1965 and joined the Dimapur college as lecturer in 1966. He became vice principal in 1973 and promoted to the principal of the college in 1976.

He also served as member of the executive council, senate council and academic council at NEHU and the retired academician was also the first captain of the Nagaland State volleyball team in 1966.

“The present Dimapur Government College is the fruit of such sacrifices and laborious efforts made by few pioneers like Prof N Imsen Ao,” the DGCAA said in a condolence message.

]The association President K Temjen Jamir recalled that Late Prof Imsen as a “humble, calm and above all righteous man who served the college selflessly with total dedication towards the cause of education during the formative period of Nagaland state.”

 “Even though he is physically no more with us today, his works and contributions will live forever with us as his legacy and an inspiration for all of us,” it added.

On behalf of thousands of alumni of the Dimapur College, Jamir conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
