DH Dimapur to resume non-COVID health care services

Dimapur, September 16 (MExN): The District Hospital Dimapur has decided to restart providing the non-COVID essential health care services besides providing the COVID-19 services effective from September 21 (Monday). 

The Hospital Management Committee of District Hospital Dimapur in a press release issued by Dr Keveduyi Theyo, Medical Superintendent (MS), COVID-19 (District) Hospital, Dimapur informed that the Flu Corner will be operational from the new designated site in COVID block. The registration for the essential services (Non-COVID) will be from the new designated registration counter. 

The screening and safety measures of all the patients will be strictly implemented according to the Government guidelines and standard operating protocols (SOPs) in order to reduce the potential risk of exposure to our workforce and to ensure the safety of all the patients and attendants, the MS stated.  

It also stated that the services provided to the patients and patients requiring operations will be strictly on priority basis for the time being considering the limited number of beds available due to separation of COVID and Non-COVID blocks.

The ART plus Centre temporarily located at MACROFED Building, opposite fire brigade station Dimapur will start rendering services from the designated site in District Hospital Dimapur. 

The District Mental Health Programme temporarily functioning in Urban Public Health Centre (UPEIC) Duncan Bosti Dimapur will also start rendering services from the designated site in District Hospital Dimapur 

In view of shortage of manpower, Dr Keveduyi Theyo also notified that the 24-hours duty staffs on rotation will attend to all the patients seeking for essential or emergency services from the designated site in Non-COVID block. 

All patients seeking medical services are required to present with identification proof to ascertain the place of origin as a precautionary measure due to the ongoing COVID -19 pandemic. The patient will be accompanied by only 2(two) attendants without any exception. 

All patients and attendants will strictly follow the safety protocols to check the spread of COVID-19 infection (wearing of mask at all times, social distancing. hand washing/use of hand sanitizer), it reiterated.
