Wokha, November 9 (DIPR): Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya visited the Doyang Hydro Electric Plant (DHEP) under Wokha district and had interaction with the officials of the power plant on November 8.
While interacting with the officials, General Manager (C)/Head of Plant DS Rai stated that Doyang Hydro Electric Plant (DHEP) has generated 222 million units of electricity till date against the target generation of 227 million units for the year 2016-17. The plant will be generating its target/design energy by the end of November, 2016 i.e. 4 months ahead of time. DS Rai said that the plant is facing difficulties in its day to day activities due to bad road and internet connectivity which he appealed to the Governor to look into the matter.
PB Acharya congratulated the officials of the power plant for their good performance and assured that he would do his best to address the problem of bad road and internet connectivity as it would not only improve their activities but it will also attract the tourist from all over the world.
The Governor also interacted with the faculty members of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (NEEPCO) Doyang on November 8. The school students performed band display and the faculty demonstrated computer aided class facility which the school is providing to the students. The Governor also presented a book on India’s contribution to the world. On his arrival on November 7, the school students performed cultural programme. The School Principal, Lukumoni Borthakur delivered the welcome speech.
