MOKOKCHUNG, DECEMBER 13 (MExN): Principal Director, Health and Family Welfare (DHFW), Dr Vizolie Z Soukhrie went on a two day tour of Mokokchung district on December 11 and 12. 

A press release from the CMO, Mokokchung informed that the Principal Director inaugurated the upgraded building for Regional Diagnostic Centre, at IMDH, Mokokchung on December 11. 

The next day, sub centres at Moayimti, Medemyim and Tsürang Valley were inaugurated while foundation stone was laid for a PHC at Longnak by Dr R Chubala, Chief Medical Officer, Mokokchung; Dr Medemmayang, Medical Superintendent, IMDH;  Dr Z Khesheto Zhimo, Joint Director, DHFW; and Dr Talitemsula, Additional Director, DHFW respectively.

Dr Vizolie Z Soukhrie urged the health workers for continual efforts to provide better health care for the people. A district review meeting was also held at IMDH along with the inauguration of the Regional Diagnostic Centre. Certain key agendas were discussed with regard to providing better health care, pandemic management as well as requirements/envisioning to boost health centres across the district. 

During the inauguration of Sub Centres at Moayimti, Medemyim, Tsürang Valley and laying of the foundation stone at Longnak, the Principal Director encouraged community support and involvement while urging the community to fill in the gaps that may arise in the management of the health centres.

T John Longkumer, IPS, DGP, Nagaland, who was present during the inaugural function of Tsürang Valley Sub Centre appreciated the presence of officials from the directorate. He further assured support and assistance on his behalf as well as of the community.
