DHO Kiphire conducts skill development prog on mushroom cultivation

KIPHIRE, MARCH 23 (MExN): The District Horticulture Office (DHO) successfully conducted a four-day Skill Development Program on mushroom cultivation, engaging 405 participants from various schools and colleges across the district.

Led by District Horticulture Officer Senti Longchar, with assistance from Horticulture Extension Assistant Seroba Sangtam, the program provided hands-on training and essential kits to equip participants with practical skills.

The initiative, the first of its kind in Kiphire, aimed to introduce students and teachers to mushroom cultivation as a sustainable livelihood opportunity. The program saw active participation from Zisaji Presidency Government College (85), Agape Higher Secondary School (75), Loyola Higher Secondary School (180), and Government Higher Secondary School (65).

Officials highlighted the importance of such programs in fostering self-reliance and entrepreneurship in the region.
