District Health Society, Mon held a Block Health Mela for the first time at Ayushmaan Bharat-Health & Wellness Center, Nokyan village, which is 87 kms away from Mon Headquarter.

Mon, March 18 (MExN): Inorder to raise public health awareness and to provide activities ranging from free health screening to free medicines, the District Health Society, Mon held a Block Health Mela for the first time at the Ayushmaan Bharat-Health & Wellness Center (AB-HWC) Nokyan village, which is 87 kms away from Mon Headquarter.
The AB-HWC in Nokyan village serves 154 houses, 1003 people as well as Sakho village which is 65 kms away from the health facility, an update received here stated.
To ensure successful implementation of the mela, a team comprising of Dr Wungyong Konyak DPO (RCH&UIP), Dr Chimang Paul, Pedeatrician DH, Dr Tsemtseh RBSK MO, Dr Nyamnyei MO DH, Dr Chingyen MO DH and Dr Taliwati MO Tizit PHC, IEC team, District Account Assistant and Block Programme Management Unit (BPMU) along with four nurses, one ophthalmic assistant, one pharmacist, Mobile ICTC, and NCD, were assembled.
At the Mela, community members had access to free medicines and health services such as general check-ups, Dental, Pediatrician, ophthalmic, ANCs, vaccinations, NCD screening, a mobile ICTC to provide HIV counselling and testing services and Focus Group Discussion (FGDs) with the targeted group of pregnant women, lactating mothers, eligible couples/youths.
Meanwhile 110 OPD cases were registered, 41 children were screened, 15 had eye screenings, 54 NCD screenings, 10 tuberculosis screenings, and 10 NVBDCP screenings.
