Wokha, April 18 (MExN): The District Health Society, NHM Health & Family Welfare, Wokha organized a one day health mela at Yimpang Village, under Bhandari block on April 17.
The medical team led by Dr. Enrithung CMO, Dr. Tumchobeni Dy. CMO, Dr. Benchilo DTO, Dr. Mhonchan ZLO, Dr. Meribeni Sr. Dental Surgeon DH, Dr. Renbonthung Sr. ENT Specialist DH, Dr. Emmanuel(O&G) CHC Bhandari, Dr. Lawrence MO PHC Yimpang, Dr. Thechamo MO PHC Nyiro, Dr. Temjen MO DH, Dr. Aotula (Dental) & Dr. Lipokrenla AYUSH from CHC Bhandari, along with Ophthalmic Assistant, Lab- technician, from RNTCP, NVBDCP, DAPCU, Pharmacist, Nurses, and Medical Assistants provided medical services to the villagers.
A total of 193 patients availed free medical checkups and free medicines. Three ANC check-ups,15 ophthalmic cases (refractive errors), 25 blood test on Malaria, ten sputum test and Mobile ICTC Team conducted 25 Blood tests. DPM (NHM), DPO (DAPCU), BPMs DEO, MTS, PMW, ASHAs also assisted during the health mela.
IEC team conducted FGD/IPC sessions on the importance of Maternal Child health, FP, Immunization, JSY, JSSK, leprosy, Iodine. Nutritional packs were given to the pregnant and lactating mothers. Posters, handouts, leaflets on different health topics in local dialect were distributed to the villagers.
The Medical team, in a press release acknowledged Soren Kikon CDPO Wokha for providing food items, Yimpang Baptist Church, Village Council Yimpang for making the health mela a success.
