
Dimapur, September 5 (MExN): Dimensions - School of phonetics & spoken English launched its two books titled ‘Grammar in conversation’ and ‘How to overcome job interviews’ at a function held at the Dimensions Centre, Circular Road, Dimapur here today.
The programme was graced by former SKK Prsident, Khevishe as special guest as Dr Maongwati, Medical Superintendent of Zion Hospital Dimapur who was supposed to be the special guest could not attend the programme due to health problem.
Nonetheless, the former SKK president, Khevishe, while speaking at the programme, pointed out that the education scenario in the state was grim and more needs to be done to create promising individuals and not mere certificate or degree owners. Saying that Noel Manuel - the Director of Dimensions Institute for Education and Research – is an asset to the Nagas and this has been proved through the many publications that he has published, Khevishe said that there should be no shame in learning English. He encouraged the students by saying just as they don’t hesitate to visit the doctor when they are sick, the people should not hesitate to take spoken English when they can’t speak well.
Ketsutso Sau, who delivered the invocation prayer – asserted that the 13th and 14th language publication of Noel Manuel was no small achievement.
Joseph, who spoke on behalf of the students of DIER pointed out that teaching, was an art that can only be mastered through concern and love. Noel is a born teacher and there is no doubt about that, he said.
The author of the books, Noel Manuel said that it hasn’t been easy climbing up the stairs particularly when people have to meet deadlines. He dedicated the two books newly release books to the past and present students of dimensions. He presumed that without their support he couldn’t have come thus far.
