‘Digital finance for rural India: creating awareness and access’

Dimapur, January 3 (MExN): The project titled ‘Digital finance for rural India: creating awareness and access’ through Common Service Center aims to enable the CSCs to become Digital Financial hubs, by hosting awareness sessions on government policies and digital finance options available for rural citizens as well as enabling various mechanisms of digital financial services such as such as IMPS, UPI, Bank PoS machines etc.  

Nagaland State e-Governance society (NSeGS) under Department of Information technology and communication support all 11 districts to give training on their respective CSC operators (VLE) and citizens under the guidance and presence of the State Project Manager and the team. The CSC operators (VLE) were also tasked to train their respective villages which was hand guided by their respective 22 District managers. The campaign was conducted from December 16 to 30, 2016.    

The objective of Digital finance for rural India: creating awareness and access are:

1. Cashless - easy to carry

2. All transactions will be accountable

3. Government will increase the revenue through various taxes which will be used for the development of the citizens

4. Honesty in dealing in public mindset

5. Easy to access transaction

6. Time and energy saved in visiting bank

7. From e wallet, UPI, USSD, AEPS, cards, POS, etc. every transaction can be done

8. Linking with Aadhaar in the bank account will help to terminate fake/ghost account.
