Dimapur, August 16 (MExN): In a reported hit and run case, an unidentified pedestrian aged around 30 years (non-local) male was “run over by one Ford Figo bearing Registration No. NL07H1965 near Burma Camp Police point junction, Dimapur NH-29.”
According to the Dy Commissioner of Police (Crime) & PRO, Dimapur, the incident occurred on August 15 at around 0230 hrs. It stated that the deceased was wearing torn olive green half pant, torn grey T-shirt, metal finger ring on the middle finger, grey/white belt and steel bangles on the right hand.
On completion of all legal formalities the dead body was shifted to District Hospital Dimapur Morgue for PM examination/identification. Claimant/relatives/friends of the deceased have requested to contact the Officer-in-Charge, Traffic Control, Dimapur @7085055028.
On the same day, at around 0250 hrs, a written railway memo from Station Manager, NF Railway Dimapur was received at Government Railway Police Station (GRPS), Dimapur that one unidentified person was lying dead in KM 258/0-1 towards RXR end at Railway Station, Dimapur.
Accordingly, the duty party rushed to the PO site and found an unidentified (suspected to be local male) aged around 25-30 years. (approx.) lying dead at the railway track. The severed head of the deceased was found lying inside the train track and the rest of the body was found intact and lying outside the train track. “It is highly suspected that the deceased was run over by a running train. On completion of all legal formalities the dead body has been shifted to District Hospital morgue for post-mortem examination and identification,” the PRO Dimapur stated.
The deceased had fair complexion, tattoo marks on his right arm, which read as “Iz” and “ONND”, and wearing black T-shirt and grey long pant. Claimant/relatives/friends of the deceased have been requested to contact the Officer-in-Charge, GRPS, Dimapur @7085055021.
