Dimapur: 29 offenders booked under NLTP Act

DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 26 (MExN): Twenty nine (29) offenders were booked under the NLTP Act 1989 and 2017 bottles of assorted IMFL seized after the Excise department comprising of three units- Narcotic cell, Mobile squad and District Excise, Dimapur conducted several raids in suspected liquor outlets, restaurants, lounges, hotels on February 25.

 A press release issued by Commissioner of Excise, Tarep Imchen while stressing on the need to curb the flow of liquor and arrest the spurt of liquor outlets in and around Dimapur town has cautioned against the sale and conduct of business of liquor which is prohibited under the NLTP Act.

It further cautioned that offenders will be penalized under relevant sections of the law while adding that raids will continue from time to time to ensure such activities are prevented at all cost.
