Dimapur, May 20 (MExN): Advisor, Labour & Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Excise, Moatoshi Longkumer conducted a consultative meeting on May, 18 and 19. The meeting was held in the presence of Sushil Kumar Patel, IAS, Commissioner & Secretary, Labour & Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship with the Principals of Industrial Training Institutes and District Employment Officers of the Employment Exchanges in the State along with officials of Department of Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship.
A DIPR report stated that during the meeting, Moatoshi reviewed the activities and achievements of the Department and emphasized the need for innovation in reducing the unemployment rates in the State. He also highlighted the importance of conducting regular job fairs across the state to align unemployed youths with employers.
The Advisor encouraged the Department to work out an action plan to conduct one training programme in each District Headquarters on two different trades each for men and women with the Mobile Skill Morung. This initiative will help improve accessibility to skill development and create more job opportunities for the youth.
