Dimapur, Chümoukedima & Niuland DPDBs hold combined meeting

Dimapur, April 22 (MExN): A combined meeting of the District Planning and Development Boards (DPDB) of Dimapur, Chümoukedima and Niuland districts was held at Land Resource Centre, Ruzaphema on April 22.

According to a DIPR report, Dimapur Deputy Commissioner and Vice-Chairperson of DPDB Dimapur, Rajesh Soundararajan chaired the meeting while Advisor and Chairperson DPDB Dimapur, Zhaleo Rio delivered the opening remarks. All the five legislators from Dimapur attended the meeting and delivered short speeches, it said.

The five legislators are said to have urged upon the officers to guide and facilitate the inconveniences of the public in the newly created districts. 

Meanwhile, Commissioner of Police Dimapur, Rothihu Tetseo, briefed the gathering about the law and order situation in Dimapur which he said was peaceful. According to the CP, traffic congestion and road accident stands out to be the major challenges, for which he urged the legislators to provide more CCTV cameras in the district, the DIPR report stated. 

Deputy Commissioner Chümoukedima, Abhinav Shivam in his short speech opined that Dimapur, Chümoukedima and Niuland districts being the modern face of Nagaland, need to be developed in every aspect.

Agendas discussed in the meeting included change of nomenclature from Logos School to Footprints Academy; Pillar School Diphupar A village to Amazing Grace Mission Center at Seithekima A village; and opening of new school by the name Dohron Kids Academy which was recommended by the members.

The House also approved for upgradation of schools which included Government High School Lingrijan to Government Higher Secondary School Lingrijan; Ebenezer Public School, Sewak Lotha colony, NN Nagi School, Kuda village A- khel; GPS Ikishe Dimapur to GHS and GHS Molvom to GHSS.

The House also approved in principle with regard to renaming of Nagarjan Road to Nimedo Sakhrie Road subject to submission of No Objection Certificate. Establishment of Mobile Dispensary Medical outreach service centre was approved by the House after deliberation, the DIPR report stated.

Among others, establishment of Co- Educational Institute Berachah MPCS Ltd was agreed in principle by the members subject to submission of verification report, while society registrations for Children's Hope Library; Dimapur District Welfare Society; Deaf Community of Nagaland, Naharbari; and Hemophilia Society Nagaland Chapter, Aoyimti Sector B Dimapur were recommended by the House.
