Kohima, January 16 (MExN): The Nagaland Olympic & Paralympic Games 2024, scheduled from February 12-17, will be hosted across two districts - Dimapur and Chümoukedima. 

In this connection, the Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) informed that the registration of players and teams will be done electronically online, and registration links are now open.

The last date for the registration of players and team officials will be January 29. 

It further urges all the district's Chef de Mission and Deputy Chef de Mission to complete the online registrations on or before January 25.Once players are registered, there will be no change of names, the NOA further stressed.

The Games Organising Committee will provide accommodation, local transport, food, and technical competition arrangements in the host city, and the dates for arrival and departure will be notified separately, the NOA said.

According to the Association, the 2024 edition will feature competitions in 16 sports disciplines: Archery, Athletics, Boxing, Badminton, Basketball, Cricket, Football, Lawn Tennis, Pencak Silat, Sepak Takraw, Taekwondo, Table Tennis, Volleyball, Belt Wrestling, Wrestling, and Wushu. 

The venues of the events and details of the competitions will be notified separately, the NOA informed in a press release. 

The 2024 edition will also include Paralympic sports in the NOA’s quest to promote inclusivity and diversity, it said. However, the events under Paralympic sports categories will not be based on inter-district teams. 

There will be seven trophies for the Games: Team Championships Winners, 1st Runner-Up & 2nd Runner-Up; Spirit of Olympics Award; Olympic Fair Play Trophy; Outstanding Sportsman; and Outstanding Sportswoman. 

The coordinating officials for the Nagaland Olympic & Paralympic Games 2024 are Kajiiloni Krichena (+91-7085333972) and Khuvinu Tase (+91-8415035548).
