
DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 1 (MExN): In view of the increasing number of dengue cases in the district and in light of the ongoing monsoon season, the Dimapur DC has ordered all government offices, shops and households to conduct social work once a week (preferably Saturday) as a precautionary measure with major focus on spot reduction and elimination of viable breeding spaces for mosquitoes. A circular from the DC further advised the public to clean their own premises and surroundings, including but not limited to draining out stagnant water from flower pots, leaves, tyres, old containers, drip pans of refrigerators etc, which are main the contributing factors of mosquito breeding. Further, colony/ward/village chairman/GBs have been requested to extend cooperation and ensure participation of all public and eliminate stagnant water in domestic homes and in public spaces.
