Dimapur DC rejects Army’s claim on CF

Dimapur, November 2 (MExN): The Indian Army PRO’s version that the October 31 incident took place inside Assam and not in Nagaland nothwithstanding, the Dimapur district administration today said that the incident which left one person shot dead and another injured, took place very inside Nagaland. 

“The District Administration of Dimapur has stated that the incident took place very much inside Nagaland. The place of incident was Burma camp, Lotha colony, Dimapur,” said Dimapur DC, Abhijit Sinha in a press note today while making a clarification about the incident involving the 5th Bihar Regiment based in Bokajan (Assam) and NSCN (IM) cadres and some civilian. 

Sinha said that the Dimapur police led by SP and SDO (C) Dimapur, rushed to the spot.  Sinha said in the incident one person, Imkongtemsu from Longkhum village was shot dead while another person, Akato who was with the deceased was injured. He was taken to Civil Hospital Dimapur and is out of danger, said Sinha. “The Dimapur Police have registered a suo moto case in this regard in East Police Station and investigation is going on,” said Sinha. 

PRO Defence Nagaland, Lt Col Nirupam Bhargava, had on November 1 stated that the incident took place inside Assam and not in Nagaland, and that a FIR to this effect, against the miscreants has been lodged by the Army, with Police Station Bokajan, in Assam.
