
Dimapur, April 19 (DIPR): Dimapur Deputy Commissioner, Sushil Kumar Patel (IAS) convened a meeting of all HODs, administrative officers, GBs, Ward Chairmen, DMC, civil societies and public leaders of Dimapur district at the Conference Hall of DC Dimapur, on April 19.
The meeting discussed matters pertaining to the proposed State wide Mass Social work under Gram Swaraj Abiyaan, fixed on April 21, as per the decision taken by the Cabinet.
Sushil Kumar Patel, who chaired the meeting, informed that the social work would commence at 7 a.m. sharp in all the 23 wards.
He instructed the HODs under Dimapur district to ensure that all the employees starting from grade IV under their respective departments participate in the social work compulsorily and also directed them to take strict attendance.
Patel also directed the GB union and ward Chairmen for initiating and mobilising all the residents in their respective wards, for participation in the social work.
He informed that the main objective of the social work would be for clearing drainages before the onset of monsoon and advised all to carry spades, shovels, brooms etc.
Further, Patel also directed the DMC to take responsibility for collecting garbage from all wards. The district administration would strictly monitor and inspect all the wards during the time of social work, the Dimapur DC added.
In the meeting, a representative from Jain Samaj informed that on the proposed day, the Jain and Marwari communities would be cleaning the Jain Temple colony covering a stretch of approximately 1 km and added that they will be using their own machineries. All members of the two communities including women and children will participate in the social work on April 21, it was informed.
