Dimapur, July 4 (MExN): Addressing the second quarter review meeting of the National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP) District Level Coordination Committee, Dimapur Deputy Commissioner and chairman DLCC Sushil Kumar Patel, IAS assured that the District administration will take steps to check tobacco product advertisements and sale of tobacco products near educational institutions.
Dr C Tetseo, District Nodal Officer NTCP stated in a press release that the second quarter (2018-19) review meeting was held in the Deputy Commissioner’s chamber on July 3.
Antoly, Swu Deputy CMO chaired the meeting and matters relating to addition of more members to DLCC and District Task force and also tobacco product advertisements near the educational institutions were discussed.
During the function, the winners of World no Tobacco day 2018 competition were awarded prizes and certificates.
The DC exhorted the students to stay away from tobacco products to protect themselves from tobacco related diseases and that would also help them to save more money for their future. He stated that in this competitive age the youth cannot remain complacent if they want to be successful.
