Dimapur, December 4 (MExN): The 1st Dimapur District Chess Championship 2021 will be held from December 13 to 14 2021 at Tourist Lodge, the Dimapur District Chess Association informed on Saturday. Joint Secretary of All India Chess Association (AICF) and State Chess Instructor, Nagaland Department of Youth Resource and Sports Mughaho Awomi will grace the championship as special guest. According to a press release from the Association’s General Secretary, there will be two categories for the championship—Open and Under-16. Players in the U-16 category will have to produce Aadhar card, PAN card, or school ID card as proof of age, it said. Players for both the categories must produce a permanent residence certificate signed duly by GB or Chairperson of the colony or village and must be from Dimapur district. The entry fees for the championship are Rs 700 for Open category and Rs 300 for U-16 category, the release stated.
While the total prize money for the championship is Rs 60,000, additional prizes will be awarded for best female player, best veteran player and the young emerging player.
