Dimapur, February 19 (MExN): The Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur held the final quarterly meeting of the District Skill Committee (DSC) on February 19. The meeting was chaired by ADC, Dimapur, Zakabo V Rotokha, NCS.
As per the DIPR report, in the review meeting, Gideon Sumi, District Employment Officer (DEO), Dimapur said that the review highlighted achievements such as increased enrollment in technical courses, successful placements in various sectors and collaborations with local businesses.
The DEO Dimapur emphasised the growing demand for skill development among employees in various sectors. “Employees are actively seeking opportunities to enhance their skills. We are committed to providing policies that support their growth and ensure they receive quality training,” Sumi said.
It was also stated that the Department of Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship has launched multiple skill development programmes for 2024-25. The State-Funded PACES Program for training in electrician (160 candidates), baking (160 candidates) and another initiative for 25 candidates yet to be finalised are the Centrally Funded SANKALP Project, Training in Assistant Electrician & Carpentry (50 candidates) and Food Processing (50 candidates).
