In Dimapur, there are 72 public health facilities, 13 private health facilities, and 298 session sites that utilizes U-WIN portal. Dr Rongsennungla, DPO, RCH-UIP while chairing the meeting, welcomed the members present and also highlighted on the District RI status.
Rajesh Monsang, RPO-UNDP, highlighted Cold Chain points in the district and their managements through eVIN. He stated that eVIN (Electronic Vaccine Intelligence Network) is a digital platform designed to monitor and manage vaccine cold chain points. eVIN uses sensors to track temperature in real-time at cold chain points (e.g., vaccine storage facilities, transport vehicles). This ensures vaccines are stored and transported within the recommended temperature range. If temperatures deviate from the set range, eVIN sends real time alerts to authorities, enabling prompt action to prevent vaccine spoilage. eVIN also tracks vaccine stock levels, expiry dates, and distribution at cold chain points, ensuring efficient vaccine management. eVIN also provides insights into temperature trends, stock levels, and logistics performance, helping identify areas for improvement.
Rajesh also presented on U-WIN portal. U-WIN is a digital platform designed to streamline and monitor India's Universal Immunization Programme (UIP) which was launched on January 11, 2023 and rolled out across the country on August 7, 2023. U-WIN Aims to digitize the entire immunization process, including tracking beneficiaries, vaccination records, and integration with vaccine management systems like eVIN. U-WIN uses one common database across the country and can be access anytime and from anywhere by a health care worker and a child’s vaccination status can be updated anywhere in the country on real time basis with eVaccination certificate. U-WIN also helps to create Due List for vaccinators and mobilizers. He further elaborated on the different types of U-WIN modules for different target group.
